American Craft Spirits Association - 2019 Bronze, Silver, Gold and Best of Show Award Winners

Congratulations to all the distillers who entered the 2019 American Craft Spirits Association’s competition to determine the best of the best in craft spirits. There were nearly 500 entrants from all over the country. Spirits were submitted in six categories including Whiskey, Gin, Rum, Vodka & Grain, Brandy and Distilled Spirit Specialty (DSS). The awards are broken out into Bronze, Silver, Gold, Best in Class, and the coveted Best of Show. And in true American Craft Spirits Association fashion if there were no entrants into a category that met the judges expectations, medals were not awarded. This year, the judges did not find any spirits worth the score of gold in Brandy or Vodka.

New this year is also the Innovation Award. Distillers are makers and sometimes they like to color outside the lines. A distiller may produce an innovative, remarkable spirits or outlier not commonly associated with a flavor profile in that spirits category. Recognizing there are many terrific products that showcase true creativity, this years awards have expanded to include Best of Class for each category and an Innovation Award.

This year’s Sixth Annual American Craft Spirits Association Distillers Convention and Vendor Trade Show took place at the Hyatt Regency in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
