Colorado Spirits Trail - The Spirits of the West are Calling

Colorado Spirits Trail or Bust. Though the Colorado Gold Rush dried up in the early 1860s, the Colorado craft spirits rush is just getting started. The 50 members of the Colorado Distillers Guild, founded in 2011, hope that their new Colorado Spirits Trail will attract as much attention as the states famous Gold Rush.

The Colorado Spirits Trail officially kicks off with a ribbon cutting on February 24, 2018. Colorado has over 50 participating distilleries that dot the map from downtown cities to the highest peaks around the state. The Colorado Distillers Guild has created a map and interactive website that will soon go live. The site will encourage tourists and locals to explore beautiful “Centennial State” and taste the amazing and creative spirits being produced in Colorado.

Spirits fans can pick up a map at participating distilleries, the airport and tourist information offices throughout the state. The map lists all participating distilleries and has a place to collect stamps by buying merchandise, bottles or cocktails.  Anyone who collects ten stamps can bring their map to a participating distillery, for a t-shirt that gives them bragging rights for completing the trail.

As in incentive to get fans out and about around the state, the Guild has established, “The Challenge.” The challenge is to be one of the first 24 individuals to visit all participating distilleries represented on the 2018 paper map, and get a stamp from each one. Fans that meet the challenge will be presented with a signed bottle from each participating distillery and bragging rights for the best stocked bar in the country and memories for the rest of their life. Bottles will be given away at the 2019 Hearts and Trails spirits event. Fans can visit the website for more details on The Challenge and rules once the site goes live. Talk about a new gold rush, wow!
