Louisville Rickhouse Whiskey Company in Louisville, Kentucky and Nashville Barrel Company in Nashville, Tennessee, were started by three friends with one obsession: good whiskey.

In 2018, we saw where the market was headed — not enough bourbon supply driving demand through the roof and creating impossible allocations for us and our friends to get the good whiskey that had brought us together. One of our favorite pastimes has been traveling all over the country and picking single barrels but that memory was vanishing quickly. So, we decided to do it our way, and invest in our own abilities to select single barrels.

We bought our first batch of barrels in 2018. Little did we know what would happen next.

The Word Got Out – From Friends’ Picks to National Recognition

Well, the word got out… fast. People started talking about our barrels. It became so popular that friends were asking if they could pick a barrel of our stuff.

In February 2020, we released our first single barrel rye — and people on social media made sure the rest was history. Soon, groups from all over the country were calling to ask to come pick a barrel for themselves.

In March 2021, it hadn’t stopped — so much so that we had to opened Nashville Barrel Company to house it all. And we’re so glad we did, because now we get to share even more whiskey with enthusiasts and friends like you in Nashville and now in Louisville the starting point of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.

1. Flights at the Bar – Walk Right In

No reservation needed. The simplest way to get to know us is so sit down at the bar and choose from a selection of rotating flights poured straight from our barrels — barrel-strength pours, hand-selected single barrels, and rotating picks. 2. Premium Barrel Tasting – Uncut & Unfiltered

Our signature experience and the best introduction to Louisville Rickhouse. Step inside our government-bonded rickhouse and taste bourbon, rye, and other whiskeys the way it comes out of the cask — uncut, unfiltered, and pulled straight from the barrel. Your host guides you through a curated, side-by-side flight drawn from multiple distilleries, so you can taste how mash bill, char, and age change a whiskey glass to glass. 3: Single Barrel Experience – Bottle Included

Taste, select, and take home your own single-barrel pick. The single barrel pick used to be reserved for retailers and industry insiders. This experience puts you in that seat. Over about an hour, you’ll taste through barrel candidates and choose the one that speaks to you.

You leave with a bottle of your selection included — with the option to purchase more of your favorite. It’s the most in-depth, hands-on way to experience what we do, and it makes a standout gift or group outing. Learn more.

Buy an entire barrel for your group, club, company, or just for you. Hand-selected by your crew, bottled at cask strength, and finished with your own custom label. Tell us what you’re after and our barrel team will set up your private selection. A single barrel yields roughly 150 to 250 bottles, all drawn from one cask — no blending, no averaging. Your group picks the barrel, we bottle it at full strength, and every bottle wears a custom label with your logo, club, or occasion.
