To celebrate the BIB Act and those who helped turn it into law The B-Line, Northern Kentucky’s Bourbon centric adventure, is holding its second annual John G. Carlisle Bottled-in-Bond Competition & Celebration on Friday, March 3, 2023.

Celebrate the 126th Anniversary of the Bottled-in-Bond Act

Indulge in an exclusive gathering of whiskey enthusiasts and the Bourbon curious as we celebrate the 126th anniversary of the Bottled in Bond Act of 1897, a milestone in American whiskey history. We’ll honor the Covingtonian hero, John G. Carlisle, who, together with Colonel E.H. Taylor, shaped the act into law.

On Friday, March 3rd from 6-8 PM, experience a sensory journey of three blind pours, showcasing the finest bottled-in-bond variations from across the nation. As we sip and savor, we’ll collectively decide on the year’s best BIB and award the prestigious 2023 John G. Carlisle Award. Every ticket-holder’s voice counts!

Pours will be accompanied by specially crafted charcuterie boards to complement each flavor profile. Join us in Northern Kentucky for this collaborative celebration, and let’s raise a glass to our beloved Kentucky’s Edge!

The John G. Carlisle Bottled-in-Bond Competition & Celebration takes place at Smoke Justis in Covington, on Friday, March 3—the date nationally known as Bottled-in-Bond Day.

Whiskey fans and bourbon curious folks alike are invited to join the small gathering to celebrate this auspicious day and the influence Carlisle had on guiding this important Act through Congress with his compatriot, whiskey world visionary Colonel E.H. Taylor, who is considered the “Father of the Modern Bourbon Industry.”
