20 years ago on October 19, 2001 a dozen special forces soldiers entered Afghanistan on horseback to defend our nation. Later that group became know as the “Horse Soldiers”. On the 20th Anniversary of that mission members of that group celebrated the groundbreaking at Horse Soldier Farms, the future home of Horse Soldier Bourbon Whiskey.

The day started with the presentation of colors starting at 7,000 feet and includes words from Horse Soldier Bourbon’s Co-Founder, CEO & President John Koko, Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear, Congressman Hal Rogers, SPEDA President & CEO Chris Girdler and Somerset Mayor Alan Keck.
