Angel's Envy Distillery - Angel's Envy Announced $6.5 Million Expansion Plans

The Angel’s Envy bourbon brand debuted in March 2011 with father and son team Wes and Lincoln Henderson. When they first started their brand they were acquiring aged bourbon from other distilleries. They applied their own signature to the spirit by maturing the aged bourbon for a few more months in previously used sherry, rum, tequila brandy and port wine barrels.

Based on the success of Angel’s Envy bourbon and rye they decided to build their own distillery. They broke ground on Louisville Distilling Company, the home of Angel’s Envy Distillery in Louisville, Kentucky in July 2013. Unfortunately, a few short months later Lincoln passed away. The project continued after a few delays and was eventually completed and celebrated its official grand opening in November 2016.

“We are thrilled to soon be breaking ground on expanding our Downtown Louisville visitors center,” said Henderson. “We’ve been fortunate enough to see a strong demand for more offerings from our distillery thanks to the support of our loyal fans and the Louisville community.

“In addition to more opportunities to share Angel’s Envy, we also look forward to providing economic growth opportunities within our hometown.”

According to data from Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority the expansion project includes $6,100,000 in building construction, $200,000 for equipment and $200,000 for startup costs for a total value of $6,500,000.

The father son duo are both members of the Kentucky Bourbon Hall of Fame. Lincoln was elected as an inaugural member back in 2001 while Wes was selected just last year in 2019.

Angel’s Envy Bourbon and Rye Whiskies are distributed in all 50 U.S. states and several select international markets. Angel’s Envy was acquired by Bacardi Limited in March 2015.
