The company says that Entrapment was crafted deep in the heart of the Manitoba wilderness in Canada. Crown Royal, known for its blends occasionally leaves behind small quantities of barrels that didn’t fit in the full blend. These barrels are moved around the warehouse to make room for newly filled barrels. They admittedly said they were not “forgotten,” but instead simply not chosen for another blend thus becoming hidden treasures for what is now the Orphan Barrel line.

A 2 Grain Mashbill

Orphan Barrel’s Entrapment Canadian Whisky has a mashbill of 97% corn and 3% malted barley. It’s been aged for 25 years in Gimli, Canada travels nearly 1,500 miles south to Tullahoma, Tennessee for hand-bottling. The company’s tasting notes say the whiskey begins with a vanilla, toffee and a delicate toasted oak scent that tastes light and creamy with hints of tobacco and walnut. The finish is warm with notes of dried fruits reminiscent of plums and raisins.
