Dueling Grounds Distillery in Franklin, Kentucky has announced a dual bourbon launch for Halloween 2020. The distillery will be releasing two versions of its Linkumpinch Bourbon 4 Year Old Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon. One will be cask strength while the other will be at an even 100 proof.
“Reaching the four year milestone is major accomplishment for Dueling Grounds Distillery,” said craft spirits distillery owner Marc Dottore. “We are a small team making all of our Bourbon from scratch with local ingredients. We make it, barrel it and bottle it all right here in Simpson County.”
The uniquely handcrafted batches of Dueling Grounds Bourbon use exclusive ingredients of the region including a high wheat mashbill that is 66% corn, 22% red winter wheat and 11% malted barley giving the whiskey a smooth sweet taste right off the still. The fermented mash is double-pot distilled then entered into the barrel at 120 proof and aged for a minimum of four years in 53 gallon, #3 charred white oak barrels.

Dottore has been at the distilling game for seven years now. He ran the distillery part-time for many years until he perfected his mash bill and distillation process and then he shifted to a full-time operation. For this small business to get to the point that it can release its first four year old Kentucky bourbon is major milestone for this or any craft spirits maker.
The first limited edition small batch 4 year old Linkumpinch Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey will be available at the distillery on a first come, first serve basis starting on October 31, 2020. The 4 year old 100 proof bourbon has a suggested retail price of $59.99 while the 4 year old single barrel cask strength bourbon has a suggested retail price of $69.99. In the short term, this will be a distillery only release but will soon be distributed throughout Kentucky and Tennessee.
A Repeal Day Release Coming Next
Dottore said to be on the lookout for the his next release. When he first started the distillery he was using a small 25 gallon pot still and aging spirits in 25 gallon barrels. This coming Repeal Day on December 5, 2020 will see a release of these barrels to the public. We’ll provide more information as this special release day nears.
