2015 Bourbon Mixer - Bourbon Brotherhood and Whiskey Chicks

On Saturday, August 15 2015 the 2nd annual Bourbon Mixer will take place between the Bourbon Brotherhood, the Whisky Chicks and eight participating distilleries. All this is happening for a good time and to raise money for a local charity.

The 2015 Bourbon Mixer promises to combine great Bourbon with upscale southern cuisine in a spirited atmosphere catering to both bourbon aficionados and enthusiasts. The event will include an open bar, Bourbon tastings, food pairings, a silent auction and will host some of the most esteemed individuals from the Bourbon industry including guests from Heaven Hill, Beam Suntory, Old Forester, Woodford Reserve, Bulleit Frontier Whiskey, Makers Mark, Buffalo Trace and Four Roses.

Each participating distillery will be sharing their passion for Kentucky’s native spirit along with samples chosen just for this evening. Attendees will have the opportunity to bid on wide variety of auction items including one-of-a-kind Bourbon experiences and rare bottles of whisky.

Last year’s inaugural event raised over $10,000 for the Coalition for the Homeless and increased awareness around the challenge of veteran homelessness. This year’s event will help to raise funds for Best Buddies Kentucky. Best Buddies is a nonprofit organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The unique silent auction is known as “Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms” and includes an amazing array of items. Take a look at this partial list including; a Bottle of Wild Turkey Diamond Anniversary – signed by Jimmy Russell, Dominican cigars from Crossfire Cigars and a Ruger P90 .45 ACP semi-automatic pistol from Gambrell’s Guns, a full-day bourbon making experience (from mash bill through fermenting, distilling and of course tasting), Bourbon tour of Cave Hill Cemetery with Bourbon Historian Mike Veach, Bourbon tastings with a variety of whiskey experts, romantic flight in a hot air balloon with bottle of champagne for you and your sweetheart, thrilling flight over Louisville in a vintage warbird plane, Bourbon barrel bench crafted by Jason Cohen, Hotel packages, Engraved Barrel head, various gift baskets, sporting event tickets, restaurant certificates, limousine service, photography packages, Secrets of Louisville Chefs television show tickets, Churchill Downs backside tour, golf and dinner package, BBC Bourbon Barrel Loft rental, Jewelry and more.
