Lagavulin Distillery - Nick Offerman, Lagavulin Islay Single Malt Scotch Whiskey, Offerman Edition Aged 11 Years

Most people know Nick Offerman for playing the role of the loveable Ron Swanson on Parks and Recreation. Others may know Offerman for his outstanding real-life woodworking skills. While others know and admire him for his patience and calm demeanor as he sits in front of a crackling Yule Tide Log sipping a glass of Lagavulin Single Malt Scotch Whisky. Just a man, a fire and his favorite whisky, neat of course.

Mr. Offerman is at it again with Lagavulin Distillery as he remembers what things were like around the time of creation and when he invented things like pot still distillation, round wooden barrels and bottles to hold Scotch whisky. Where would the world be without him? Fortunately, we’ll never know because he was there and thanks to modern technology we’ve unearthed video that shows his impact on the smoky, smooth, Scotch Whisky we know and love today.

Offerman comes clean as he finally unveils his centuries-old secret. He did, in fact, single-handedly discover how to make Scotch Whisky. With the assistance of his dear friend Lagavulin Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky, of course. Now, the two are honoring their everlasting friendship by releasing a dedicated bottle of Lagavulin Offerman Edition Aged 11 Years.

“I have spent countless hours parsing the alchemy for a new, limited-edition whisky with Lagavulin Distillery Manager Colin Gordon. Together, we have concocted a most edifying nectar – Lagavulin Offerman Edition Aged 11 Years,” says Offerman.

“‘Carrying the signature Lagavulin Islay Single Malt peatiness with sweet berry and orchard fruit notes, this Scotch Whisky is for those who adore Lagavulin’s patented smoky flavor and the patience required to masterfully distill a Single Malt’ is what they told me to say, but I would rather just tell you that I am giggling with delight at the notion of people enjoying this limited-edition Scotch.”

To illustrate the centuries of patience and hard work required to distill this new, limited edition 11 Year Old whisky, Offerman and Lagavulin are releasing the next iteration of the My Tales of Whisky content series. The videos reveal Offerman’s devotion to the whisky-making process, following his long and arduous journey through time as he plays a key role in the evolution of Scotch Whisky.
