Joseph & Joseph + Bravura Architects - Architectual Firm Adds to Louisville Office with New Offic in Lexington Kentucky

Joseph & Joseph + Bravura Architects is expanding its footprint by adding an office in Lexington. Currently the firm has its primary headquarters in Louisville. The new Lexington office is located in The Lexington Design Center at 628 Winchester Rd.

Cash Moter and Eric Huelsman, partners at Joseph & Joseph, will welcome Ian McHone as lead in the Lexington office. McHone, who has been with Joseph & Joseph since July, will continue to oversee the firm’s projects in the Lexington region. Current projects include the design of the distillery and rickhouse for the James B. Beam Institute for Kentucky Spirits on the campus of the University of Kentucky and several projects for the cities of Danville and Midway.

“The Lexington area is so rich in talent with the University of Kentucky’s School of Architecture nearby that expanding our presence and team in Lexington just makes sense,” says Moter. “We’re looking forward to growing our portfolio in the areas of parks design, historic preservation, and multifamily property design, all of which are a significant part of the Lexington regional landscape.”

This is the first time in the firm’s 113-year history that it has added a second location. Joseph & Joseph, Kentucky’s oldest name in architecture, is known nationwide for its distillery architecture and expertise in historic preservation. In March 2020, Joseph & Joseph acquired Bravura Architecture, Interiors and Planners. Recent notable projects have included the 4,000-acre Parklands of Floyds Fork in Louisville, Four Roses Distillery expansion and new visitor center and The Fred B. Noe Craft Distillery for Jim Beam.

“We have been fortunate to develop a strong network of partners in the Lexington region, and having a physical presence there will allow us to grow this network even more,” says Huelsman. “We look forward to making a positive impact on central Kentucky.”

The company will employ 15 full-time architects and designers between the two locations. The Louisville office is located at 550 S. Fourth Street.
