Bardstown Bourbon Co. Releases Tennessee Bourbon Collaboration Aged in Walnut Brown Ale Beer Casks

 In Blog

The Bardstown Bourbon Company located in BardstownKentucky is continuing to expand its Collaborative Series of specialty whiskies. This new release is the second collaboration between Bardstown Bourbon Company and Louisville’s Goodwood Brewing Company.

The Bardstown Bourbon Company Goodwood Brewing Company Walnut Brown Ale will be the latest in a line of innovative blended spirits from the modern distillery. Last October, the bourbon and beer companies collaborated on an 11-year-old bourbon finished in honey ale casks. This latest release is made from a high-proof 9-year-old Tennessee straight bourbon whiskey aged in Goodwood walnut brown ale casks for 18 months.

“This spirit is very complex, with a layered pairing of walnut, toffee, oak, biscuit and malt notes,” said Bardstown Bourbon Co. head distiller Nick Smith. “The subtle finish of ale really enhances this one-of-a-kind pour.”

“The previous collaborative release was rated by Esquire Magazine as a Top 29 Bottle of Booze in 2019,” said Goodwood Brewing Co. CEO Ted Mitzlaff. “In my opinion, the Walnut Brown finish is every bit as amazing as our Honey Ale finish. Fans of Bardstown Bourbon Co. and Goodwood will be thrilled with this product!”

Bardstown Bourbon Company Goodwood Brewing Company Walnut Brown Ale is bottled at 103.2 proof (51.6% ABV) with a suggested retail price of $124.99 for a 750mL. This Tennessee whiskey will be available as of April 1, 2020.

Bardstown Bourbon Company’s products are available in California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Nevada, Tennessee, and Washington D.C.
