Spring is in the air and the one thing popping up more often than tulips is bourbon raffles. This latest bourbon raffle is offered by way of Kentucky Elk and Outdoor Festival in Bardstown, Kentucky. The festival happens Saturday, May 11, 2024, with the raffle drawing taking place at 3pm that afternoon. 100% of the proceeds of this barrel pick raffle will go to support the future Bardstown Sports & Aquatic Center in downtown Bardstown. This future aquatic center will be a huge boost to the local economy and great for residents and schools.

What is Unobtainium?
Unobtainium: A term used to refer to an object that cannot be easily accessed, is considered rare, prohibitively expensive, controlled, or nonexistent.
Though Unobtainium may or may not exist, this raffle and these five barrels of bourbon really do exist. The $25 per ticket raffle is composed of five single barrel bourbon picks from five of Kentucky’s most prominent distilleries. Bourbon single barrels have an approximate value of around $12,000. Each single barrel VIP pick is also topped off with a one-of-kind, personalized experience, and tour of its home distillery.

Green River Distilling Co., Owensboro, Kentucky
Bardstown Bourbon Company presents Green River VIP Single Barrel Pick with Master Distiller Aaron Harris at Green River Distillery.
Green River Distilling Co. single barrel is a true Kentucky, rye-forward bourbon (70% Kentucky grown corn, 21% rye, 9% malted barley) with a remarkable flavor profile. Every single barrel will be a minimum of five years old and will be presented at full proof (119 proof).
You will receive the ultimate VIP Experience at Green River Distillery, where you will taste multiple barrels, and then select one barrel of Green River Single Barrel Bourbon. The barrel will then be bottled and arranged for pickup/delivery at a future date. Experience is for 8 people. So technically, this barrel pick doesn’t happen in Bardstown. Owensboro has a rich history of distilling dating back to the 1800s. Owensboro is about 118 miles from Bardstown.

Heaven Hill Distillery presents Elijah Craig Single Barrel Pick at the Heaven Hill Bourbon Experience.
This Elijah Craig Single Barrel selection is a top-shelf experience where you will sample several barrels of Elijah Craig Single Barrel Bourbon which is handcrafted and specially selected by their Master Distillers. This is the award-winning Bourbon that started it all. Heaven Hill’s signature small batch bourbon owes its distinctive warm spice & subtle smoke flavor to Level 3 charred oak barrels. Limestone Branch Distillery presents Yellowstone Select VIP Single Barrel Pick with Master Distiller Stephan Fante at Limestone Branch Distillery.
Yellowstone Hand-Picked Single Barrels are typically four to five years old and are picked by proof. Sample each barrel at 109, 115, and 119 proofs for a truly custom experience. Along with the VIP selection, the winner will enjoy a private tour of the distillery before their pick and cocktails and cigars following in their Single Barrel Tasting Lodge.
The barrel will then be bottled and arranged for pickup/delivery at a future date. Experience is for 8 people.

Your experience will include a private tour of our distillery, private tasting of multiple single barrel selections, small bites and cocktails by our premier culinary team, your single barrel selection, and customized bottle labels. Lux Row Distillers presents Rebel Stave Finished Single Barrel Pick with Master Distiller John Rempe at Lux Row Distillery in Bardstown.
Rebel Stave Finish Single Barrels feature a wheated bourbon recipe distilled at Lux Row Distillers. Winners will first choose their unique single barrel, and then will choose between three different toasted varieties – Pure Vanilla, Rich Mocha, or Caramel Honey- for their own unique stave finish.
This experience also includes a tour of Lux Row Distillers recently expanded distillery before the pick, and cocktails afterwards. The barrel will then be bottled and arranged for pickup/delivery at a future date. This experience is for 8 people.
The nitty gritty details for the raffle.
- All single barrels can produce between 175-225 bottles of bourbon depending on the age, proof and bottle size.
- Drawing date: May 11th, 2024, 3:00pm @ KYGUNCO’s Bardstown Facility during the 2024 KY Elk & Outdoor Fest
- 100% of the Proceeds from this raffle ticket go to funding the construction of the future Bardstown Sports and Aquatics Center
- To determine the order in which the single barrel picks will be raffled off, a random drawing will be held prior to drawing the raffle winners. In this random drawing, we will draw out 5 distilleries. The order in which the participating distilleries are drawn out, will be the order in which we award the single barrel picks. We will then draw out five individual winners that correspond to the pre-determined order.
