Whiskey Row in Louisville, Kentucky, will be abuzz on December 5 as the U.S. celebrates the 92nd anniversary of the Repeal of Prohibition. To celebrate the occasion, Buzzard’s Roost Distillery will be pulling out all the stops by not only celebrating repeal day but also celebrating its 3rd anniversary (my how time flies).
Buzzard’s Roost will be marking the occasion with the release of its new Repeal Day 2025 Single Barrel 8-Year Old Bourbon Whiskey and a parade featuring the spicey sounds of the Hot Sauce Brass Band.
“Repeal Day is our favorite holiday,” says Buzzard’s Roost Co-founder Judy Hollis Jones. “Without it, the bourbon industry wouldn’t be what it is today. We’re excited to celebrate and toast everyone with our new Repeal Day 2025 Single Barrel Bourbon”.

Buzzard’s Roost says their Repeal Day 8-Year-Old single barrel bourbon is bottled at 113.4 proof (56.7 ABV) and offers sugary fruit aromas layered with bubbling brown sugar and crushed pecans. On the palate: rich toffee studded with dry cherries, dates and apricots is balanced by light oak and a hint of white pepper. Buzzard’s Roost Repeal Day 8-Year-Old Bourbon will be available at the distillery and online, for $125 per bottle.
The celebration takes place at Buzzard’s Roost Distillery at 624 W. Main Street on Friday, December 5 at 5 p.m. After the barrel roll and parade, Buzzard’s Roost will be hosting a party at 5:30 p.m. at its distillery and tasting room where Buzzard’s Roost Co-Founders Judy Hollis Jones and Jason Brauner will sign bottles of the new release.
Buzzard’s Roost Whiskey is an independent distiller, blender and bottler of exceptional double oak whiskeys crafted using pioneering techniques. Buzzard’s Roost use of 18-month-seasoned oak barrels intensifies flavors, and low-char/high-toast barrels coax multiple layers of flavor from each barrel providing exceptional flavors like few other whiskies. All Buzzard’s Roost whiskeys are double-oaked and bottled at Bardstown Bourbon Company. Buzzard’s Roost Sipping Whiskeys are available at the distillery, nationally and online. Buzzard’s Roost is proud to be a woman-led company.
