Event Details

Historic Bardstown, Kentucky isn’t known as the Bourbon Capital of the World® for nothing. With ten unique distilleries within 16 miles of downtown, there is nowhere else in the world you’d rather be on National Bourbon Day, June 14, than right here. Taking into account the extraordinary circumstances that 2020 has put us in and to ensure the safety of all our wonderful visitors and locals, we encourage you to join us virtually beginning Friday evening, June 12 and Saturday, June 13 for cocktail and cooking classes and distillery content you can’t get elsewhere! Check out the event schedule below and tune in. Our videos will air on this here beginning Friday, June 12 at 5:30 pm.

      Tune in for a quick rundown of what you can expect at our Virtual National Bourbon Day Celebration in the Bourbon Capital of the World – Bardstown, Kentucky.
    • 5:45pm Bossy Banana Live Cocktail Class with Bardstown Bourbon Company5:45pm- 6:15pm
      Tune in for a live cocktail class with Bardstown Bourbon Company National Brand Ambassador Sam Montgomery as she leads you through making the Bossy Banana. Tune in to our webpage at www.visitbardstown.com/nbd or, if you want to ask a question for Sam, hop on the Facebook Live on our Facebook page. Go grab your ingredients for the Bossy Banana and follow along with Sam, then enjoy your cocktail! Shopping List: 1. Bottle of Bardstown Bourbon Company Fusion (if you don’t have Fusion, use a 100 proof bourbon) 2. Banana liqueur (St Germain is a great alternative) 3. Meletti amaro (Aperol or Campari are alternatives) 4. Dry vermouth 5. Lemon peel 6. Ice Bar Tools: 1. Cocktail jigger 2. Bar spoon 3. Strainer Don’t worry if you don’t have these bar tools at home. Samantha will give you alternatives to use that you can easily find at your home.

      Join Wally Dant, seventh generation Dant family distiller, as he walks you through the plans for his new distillery, Log Still Distillery, on the former site of his family’s distillery in New Hope, Kentucky, just outside Bardstown. Wally will take you through his family’s distilling history, give you a sneak peek at some historic homes that they are converting to bed and breakfasts, and show never before seen renderings of the new tasting room and distillery. You won’t want to miss this!

      Hear from Randy Prasse, new Kentucky Bourbon Festival President & COO, as he talks about his first few months on the job and shares some special insights into the planning and preparations for this year’s Kentucky Bourbon Festival.

      Join Christy Clark, chef and owner at renowned downtown Bardstown restaurant Mammy’s Kitchen, for a bourbon brunch cooking class! Follow along as Christy walks you through making Vanilla Orange Bourbon Tea and her famous Bourbon Bananas Foster French Toast! Grab your ingredients beforehand and follow along.       Hear from Marci Palatella, owner of one of Bardstown’s newest distilleries, Preservation Distillery, as she walks you around their beautiful grounds, shows off their unique, small scale distilling operation, as well as a few of their livestock!
    • 10:30am Show & Tell with John Rempe of Lux Row Distillers10:30am- 10:45am
      Join John Rempe, Head Distiller at Lux Row Distillers, and Vincent Clark, Visitor Center Manager, as they discuss the unique process behind their Blood Oath bourbon, as well as show off their new, never before seen barrel pick center in a beautiful historic home on the distillery grounds.
    • 10:45am Picking the Perfect Barrel with Barton 1792 Master Distiller Danny Kahn10:45am- 11:00am
      Hear and see Barton 1792 Distillery Master Distiller Danny Kahn as he hand selects two barrels for the Whisky Hunt Club from Australia. These barrels will be bottled with a special label and shipped to Australia for the group. This is very cool insight into a process that not many people ever experience!
    • 11:00am Heaven Hill Hard Hat Behind the Scenes Tour11:00am- 11:15am
      Join Jeff Crowe, GM of Heaven Hill Distillery Visitor Experiences, and Anna Hibbs, Project Manager, as they walk and talk you through their incredibly exciting construction project: a rooftop bar, restaurant, and upgraded visitor experience. Check out some never before seen renderings and start planning your trip for spring of 2021!
    • 5:30pm Cocktails & Banter with Fred & Freddie Noe of Jim Beam5:30pm- 6:00pm
      Share a cocktail and some stories from the Man Cave, i.e. Fred’s backyard, with Fred & Freddie Noe, renowned seventh and eighth generation distillers at world famous Jim Beam. Fred & Freddie will walk you through making one of their famous cocktails, then will answer questions from you all and share hilarious stories of their lives and distilling exploits. Send in questions for Fred & Freddie beforehand or tune in to our Facebook Live during the event and send in your question that way.
