One of the many things that makes this craft distillery unique is they are a farm distillery. Not only do they distill their own spirits but they grow their own corn and not just any corn but an heirloom Bloody Butcher Corn. All of the Bloody Butcher corn was estate grown, on their own farmland within 10 miles of the distillery. In addition to their bourbon the same Bloody Butcher Corn is used for all of their products, including vodka, moonshine, and brandy.

This rye forward bourbon was distilled onsite with a mash bill of 75% Bloody Butcher Corn, 20% malted rye and 5% malted barley. It was distilled in a single season, aged in a bonded barrel warehouse for at least 4 years, then bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV) making this a Bottled-in-Bond Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey.

Serendipity | ser·en·dip·i·ty | \ ˌser-ən-ˈdi-pə-tē:
In 2014, Master Distiller Joyce Nethery distilled test batches of bourbon, hoping to test different grain levels for the mash. Due to a delivery accident, the rye, wheat, and barley all arrived malted. It was a lucky mistake: the Netherys tasted the bourbon made from the mash of malted grains and knew they’d landed on something special.

Bourbon Tasting Notes

Tasting notes provided by the distillery say this bourbon is has a nose of sweet orange creme brulee, followed by bold baking spices, and dried cranberries. On the palate it delivers light caramel, vanilla, cinnamon, and lemongrass with undertones of sweet oak. It has a long smooth buttery finish with whispers of ginger and cinnamon that dance across your tongue.
